Regarding the previous products of Choung Networks

We have removed references and download links for the previous software from our new site. This decision was made in order to give the new Token2Shell a fresh new start. However, it may have caused some confusions or inconvenience for previous product users and customers who were planning on purchasing our software. Please accept our sincere apologies.

For previous product users, even if the products are discontinued we'll do our best to support them as promptly as possible. We'll *not* abandon the products simply because they are discontinued. If you have any question or need our help, please don't hesitate to contact us. We'll also provide any assistance for customers who wish to upgrade to the new Token2Shell product suite as it becomes available.

We have been working on Token2Shell project for more than a year now and we wanted to make a clear distinction between our previous products and the new ones. The year 2009 starts with the new Token2Shell and the previous products ends with 2008.

The new family of Token2Shell shows where Choung Networks is headed with its software development efforts.

  1. Separating application from its configuration data.

Our future products will have a clear distinction between application executables and the user configuration data. For example, in Token2Shell, you will see a folder under "My Documents" that holds all of user configuration data such as address book entries, macros, toolbar/pane layouts and etc. If you want to backup your settings, you just need to backup this folder. If you wish to use the same settings as your desktop on your notebook or netbook, you just need to copy that folder after installing Token2Shell.

  2. Sharing address book with other products.

In Token2Shell address book, you'll notice how an entry is organized. When you add a server, you can configure all the Internet connection methods available for that server and login information is shared among those connection methods. For example, if you setup an auto-login, the same user ID and password is applied when you make a TELNET connection or an SSH connection for that server.

It will be extended for other protocols when we launch a new product. For example, if we release an FTP client, it'll definitely have an option to use or share the address book settings with Token2Shell.

  3. Interoperability with mobile devices.

Cellular phones are not just for talking anymore! There are increasing number of "Smartphones" in the market and if you are a technician or administrator, one of the top concerns is the response time when something goes wrong. Going back to your office and starting your desktop PC may be too late!

As you can see in Token2Shell suite, we'll provide additional mobile device options if it's feasible. (Our main mobile device platform is Windows Mobile and we currently do not have any plan to support other mobile OS's.)

We again sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and confusion the new software launch may have caused.

Thank you.
